Drilling in the dropouts are original with very early frames
That’s not right, plus this isn’t a really early one being a ‘91. The Pinnacle had drilling in the dropouts but were shaped to accommodate them. The Attitude was a race bike and sold with no rack mounts, along with the Adroit and Rascal.

Re:

A drilled hole in the dropouts usually indicates it was an ex Klein employee bike. They did this to identify them as there may had been a flaw with the frame and could not be sold onto the open market. The staff could buy these at a reduced rate. I've seen a fair few klein frames like this over the years.

Am I missing something but aren’t most Kleins way over priced by their owners ?

Saw one recently, marketed on a leading internet auction site as a...

"Dr Gustav Klein"

"Original design classic" and associated spiel. Well into four figures...

Worst of all, it was a trek.

There are some early Attitudes with a single hole in the dropout, this was to indicate an employee owned bike. Other models, like the Pinnacle had holes in the dropout for mounting pannier racks.
