I'm in the same position too, hvae finally got my m700 Cannondale out of hibernation and the Pace forks that i was going to fit (in place of the flexi-stem) but the forks just compress and dont rise again....

I was looking to get some disc braked wheels for the bike too, as the existing brakes were never that great....
