Make a Coke can shim and see if that's the right size - if it is, then you need 30.6mm. If it's still loose then try two thicknesses which would take it to 30.8mm.

Or test it with some feeler gauges, if you have (or can borrow) some.

a coke can is .2 of a mm thick iirc.

yup i've shimmed out a 26.8 post to 27mm using a coke can.

I was just pointing out that a Coke can is 0.1mm thick, not 0.2mm as jamabikes said.

A coke can is 0.1 mm thick - I make brake calliper shims from them.

The alumimium slider on a 3.5 inch floppy disc is 0.2 mm - I make brake calliper shims from them too.

yes but if you wrap a seat post in a coke can shim it takes up 0.2mm not 0.1mm
