What size front mech?

What size front mech do I need for an early 90's GT Karakoram? 28.6?

you need to measure the seat tube diameter to be certain, more than likely it will be 28.6mm.

you also need to make sure you get the 'pull' correct - if the cable runs under the bottom bracket you need a bottom pull mech, if it runs along the top tube you need a top pull mech.

My 1992 Karakoram is 28.6, top pull.

My 1991 Karakoram Elite is 28.6mm too.

My 96/97 karakoram is 28.6 with a bottom pull,bottom swing.

Those bottom swing look so much better and seam to last longer as well.
