Senior Retro Guru
Union Cycle Works, London

We need a programme manager for our exciting new venture - The Union.

The Union programme manager will be responsible for the delivery of our new programme targeting unemployed 16-24 year olds from challenging backgrounds in the Deptford area. The programme is an awesome new venture and we are really excited! The aim is to train a group of young people to become super bike mechanics - but its not just about maintenance- we will be offering mentoring, personal trainers, life coaching and a whole lot more!

The role of the Programme Manager is therefore a broad one, requiring a range of skills and experience. The role will be directly supported by the Union Cycle Works directors and management committee.

Who we are looking for?
Someone who is dedicated to enabling young people to lead productive lives and who is passionate about using cycling and cycle maintenance as way of achieving this. We are asking a lot of you – you need to be super organised, super passionate and a big dreamer to help us to achieve our big vision.

You will spend much of the time unsupervised and will need to be happy to work alone and take responsibility for the development of a small team of young people. We will provide training for you in order to get you up-to-speed with mechanics (full Cytech), so don't worry if you are not a qualified mechanic.

Its only part-time, but we have big plans to expand the role in the future!

Salary: £15 per hour
Working hours: 12 hours per week
Short-term contract: 16 weeks (with a view to a permanent position)
