Hi all,
Went to pick up my brand new in the box unused bladiebla Tioga Disc Drive Pro. Looks awesome and I'm soooo happy with it (especially given the price I got it for)
Anyway, been reading through the manual and the setup doesn't seem too much of a hassle. Since it's a new one, abviously it ain't mounted to a rim and hub. It says ANY 36H hub will work btw, is this true? Wouldn't want to spend "alotta" cash on some Ringle Super8 and find out it won't fit Does anybody know the difference between a Pro and a normal one (or what is a normal one, the blue ones?).
And is it very hard to get this thing trued? The guy I got this from said most bike mechanics won't even touch these as it's very very hard to get the overall tension right and get it trued and centered, but the manual says it's about the same as doing it for a normal spoked wheel.
Or should I just keep it in the box and sell this in 20 years so I can retire from it
Anyway, info is greatly appreciated. Been searching here but not that much to find. Me personally I was happy to find this, it's new, it's the clear one (so I'm thinking about putting it on my white KLEIN or my S-Works carbon... or maybe even the Attitude would look nice with this). And I have to say, after reading what this wheel is all about, I'm kinda hesitating to really use it. Maybe this is more of a "show model" for a bike I'm not gonna use :?:
