Thomson masterpiece cutting

2p is twice the weight of a 1p and four times the weight of a half p piece. Great for calibrating scales.

Ah, this takes me back to way back when, where the bike shops had cases of ti bolts on the counter, and kids would spend their pocket money saving up to upgrade a few bolts here or there...

Oh, and more often than not, slap them on some fairly low-end bike...

Ah...decimalisation/metrication...A big bag of copper is worth the same, whatever the mix of coins...brilliant, I didn't know that.

Weighing my loose change in an idle moment of investigation, I see that this also works for 20p/50p and 5p/10p.

I bet it wasn't that easy before 1971...how many farthings to the florin was it?
Now where's my 7/64" Allen key?

All the best,

it has the added bonus of making my wallet lighter
Especially if you buy the part with loose change.. 100 20p pieces weigh a whole lot more than one £20 note...or doesn't it work like that ;)

All the best,

Talking of old money etc, when I was a tool room apprentice I was given this as it was worn as wasn't much use for accuracy but was good for the table on the reverse. Must be quite old. Nice. Treasure it.
