I'm loving the moonlander and I'm breaking the rules by using it for places where people say they'd struggle, XC stuff, roads, climbing, trail centres, long journeys etc!
The basic pugsley is a very good bike, even with the smaller 65mm rims and 3.8 rubber, it will go anywhere still, just takes more effort at times in soft conditions like the coast and gravel and rocky areas.
The black ops/necro mancer with its wider 82mm rims and footprint and same moonlander gearing and crank, same fork with mounts and better clearance is probaly the best choice for a new starter.
Bang in the middle and upto date.
All 3 bikes work great in snow, but seeing as its a rare thing in the uk I bought the moonlander for my odd beach day, looking back through this thread I have to say its the best terrain to explain how a moonlander out fats all other fat bikes, even to this day with all the new stuff coming out, nothing touches it.
