I'm waiting to see the condition of some pedals I have bought off eBay from Italy.

How about using countersunk holes in the cages with suitable screws so the heads are flush with the cage?
Like Suntour did with their pedals.

On close inspection I don't think this venture is possible as there is not enough material in the pedal body to drill and tap without a very high risk of trashing the pedal.

I am so disappointed, I really wanted this to work, although I did come to the same conclusion a few years back
