Koas are lovely - I owned a 96er for at least 5 years.
Just a point re. brakes that someone was asking about: Kona did a half season change to several mid-range models in 1997. Early season, bikes like the Koa and Lave Dome came with the Curve cantiset; about halfway through the year, they changed to Avid V type brakes.
