thanks richard, co mr gumby recieved bars+stem... noticed previous stems with an oval stamp on the side less
than 25mm diameter clamp . why did they ever make those bar widths so narrow on a 56 frame ?

I have SR bars on my Rapide and they are really narrow - always seems odd riding it. My suspicion is that historically people liked narrow bars or it may have something to do with metal fatigue - wider the bars the more pressure on the centre. Maybe someone knows for defo...
