Like you I thought of the hole in the Jubilee clip idea till I looked at how big the hole would be so as to clear bolt head, not much of Jubilee clip left. :shock: Then the idea of using 2 occurred to me.
And you've correctly pointed out the front mech idea will only work on the seat-tube. It's an idea that will help some though.
The rivnuts I have are steel, I bought the kit when I had a kitcar for mounting things on the chassis. Agree with you that you'll ruin the rivnut even if it's steel if you grip it with mole grips, that's IF you could actually grip it with mole grips, not much there.
