SPECIALIZED

specialized P3, was a UK bike (as in page3 ;) ) before available in the US. generally companys do adjust spec & even complete bikes for specific countrys.

thats what drew me to it , like the short run type

ok , maybe they weren`t the best designs , hence the short lifespan !!

but that makes them all the more apealing , for me at least !!!

And me .

I saw a complete bike with same frame but in white on Velo Vert classified , but the guy wanted 600euros because , it is retro and rare .

I told him to keep it .

well guys,
got the frame and theres no doubt its a secialized
and a nice surprise was that the shock is basically a scaled down GIRVIN ODS
so i shall get to work on that in the morning
hardly any oil in the damn thing ( to be expected i suppose )

the front triangle is in quite good shape , paint wise
but the rear is missing a lot of paint and has some surface rust
the shame is the decals are in very good shape but will have to come off too
got some new ones anyway

so its off to the powdercoaters next

no bearings as such
its the same as the PROFLEX i have
just some plastic sleeves with 2 metal rollers and a bolt through

easy enough to get made up if need be

but i had to knock the bugger out due to the crap built up in them
see how they feel when they are cleaned up and refitted

judging by the proflex , i think they might be ok
found someone who sells a bearing upgrade anyway , so we will see

GC AIM 1 COMP

Hi there, just wondering if you still have the bike and if so what you have done to it. I have the 96 model. I bought the frame with everything but wheels and a seat for $60. I love the frame design so I want to rebuild her too! Thanks.

Jim

hi

still got it yes , the rear end is off to the powder coaters for a repaint

and as coincidence has it , stripped the shock down today

the seals and bushings still feel tight , so just need to know the oil level cos what came out was an evil fishy smelling mixture

you come over from mtbr ??

:D

coincidence or what , got the rear back yesterday and started putting her back together , so the frame is rebuilt

just need to do some touch ups on the red , and decide on some forks ?

probably some yellow quadra 21r as originally fitted , not tried them on yet , so no idea how they will look
