Re: FS: Large Orange Vit T2 frame

Sorry for slow response chief, the frame is buried in a box at the back of the shed, I'll dig it out tonight and measure up.
Im guessing you want something a bit more accurate that 'huge'

FS: Large Orange Vit T2 frame

good news and bad news...

measurements, approximate and C2C:

But, spotted this wee crack. Bu&@er.

That changes things somewhat... the frame is now for sale as damaged @£200 collected or £220 posted to UK. I'm going to look into getting a repair, i have been quoted £60-90 for similar work in the past so somewhere about there but don't hold me to that.

blast.

Re: FS: Large Orange Vit T2 frame REDUCTION

Ouch.. gutted for you... They do seem to be pronge to cracks these vit t 's.... I guess that's why these beautiful frames are pretty rare :(

Re: FS: Large Orange Vit T2 frame REDUCTION

dunno, the post it came with was full length but shimmed, shim was longer than the top of the tube to the crack but it could be the problem I suppose

Re:

I guess a shimmed post is going to flex below the shim and therefore create extra force in that area :?

Real shame although if a correct size post was fitted and the bike used gently it might be OK as it is.

Never understood why Orange started using shims. I've had plenty of mid 90's and newer with them, right up to my old 2007 Clockwork.
