Problem persists on PC and mobile...flagged up 4 weeks ago.

There's nobody here on admin, and the site's not been upgraded in 5 years.
No wonder everyone has migrated to Facebook and split up into specialist cliques.

All the best,

Yes..ironically the  one.

Removed the emoji and it posted OK.
Can't cope with BBCode text emojis eh?..well that's proper retro.

All the best,

Well after some 14 years maybe its finally time to pack the site in especially as a genuine offer to buy and relaunch the site was ignored.

There's the 'hands off' approach and theres the 'no interest from the site owner at all hoping that the site will just about manage itself and limp along until forgotten' approach.

The Tokai Forum is plagued with spammers on a daily basis making it fairly useless, after six months the site owner upgraded the software to get rid of the spam but lost the registry which was the most used part. Yet the spammers are still posting. Absentee landlords.

That would be a shame.

Facebook is next to useless if you want to research stuff.....

The site is still limping along though.
I understand the frustration, but the site is still a goldmine of information. People are still posting (including you, which is a 'good thing'™). It's not disabled by spammers. And it's inherently superior to Facebook. Newer members have come along and posted some great build threads and all in all it's not that bad.
Yes, it could be better, but let's not chuck the baby out with the bathwater!

Just as an FYI, there was a long-time site for longboarders called silverfish. It, like Retrobike, was a hive of information collected over many years and was a fantastic resource. Well the site got wound up. It has now disappeared from the face of the internet. Like it was never there. It would be a 'bad thing'™ if that were to happen to Retrobike.
