Santana Rio Tandem

Re:

I'm also part way through the first of the "dummy" cranks to go with the kiddy cranks. Not really necessary but it looks weird to me to have redundant cranks spinning around. These will be neater.

Update to the thread-from-the-nearly-dead !

Despite good intentions last year, for any number of lame excuses I never quite got around to finishing this off. I dragged it out again the other week (the joys of current WFH arrangements ;) ) and found that my daughter is now too big to need kiddy cranks. D’oh. But that made life a lot easier.

I shortened the old rear cranks by 50mm and put the saddle right down, and she can just about ride it. At the rate she’s growing it’ll be perfect by the time we get into the proper summer.

All we’re missing is some new grips & a cable for the front mech but that didn’t stop us going on our maiden voyage today. Huge success. Daughter loves it

Some more bits found in the garage. Grips & bar ends on the front. Borrowed some tape for the rear bars. Small pedals with toe clips. Bottle cages & a frame bag for snacks.

I think we’re pretty much done
