That Bell Image brings back memories! The 1st MTB helmet I bought, no doubt spurred on by the marketing showing John Tomac wearing it.
Sure, safety standards have changed, but I'm not sure there's a watertight case for wearing a helmet unless you're actually involved in racing?

My first MTB helmet was a Scott - well at least it was a polystyrene helmet with a lycra 'Scott' cover. Whilst I've not seen one like it since I owned it in 1990, I've no reason to believe it wasn't officially a Scott item.

I Picked up one of the NOS Bell Image lids that were on eBay fairly recently. Had a black one BITD so had to really. apart from being a bit of a weathered box (after all these years), seems to be new and all fresh!

This is the same model as I had back in 1990. Very surprised to see one again, let alone NOS, in the UK and suitably inexpensive. Bought just for nostalgic reasons rather than for any intended use. The worrying thing is that this is an ‘XL’ which I would have thought would be absolutely massive - but no, pretty much fits!
