This is what happens with Raleigh, perhaps they had excess frame sets so they painted them up and sold them as Road aces, who knows.

Yes Indeed, there is plenty of evidence for both types out there, I've found 2 or 3 of each and its consistent. I'am of the view they are both 531 frames, just two version in 1989.

What month is yours numbered up as? mine is early 89, in Feb according the frame number.
