Thanks that's great to hear!. What model was yours can you remember?

I couldn't, but it just came to me

Was a Raleigh Strada from around 1992. 531 frame with 501 fork. 6-speed Shimano Exage with indexed shifters and Biopace rings.

I upgraded to a Bob Jackson with full 531 frame and fork using the groupset off the Raleigh. Essentially, the 531 fork is quite a bit thinner, so it's a lot more springy to ride and soaks up the bumps a bit better. In comparison, my track bike is properly hench thick steel and has quite straight forks, so it's very stiff, but it's also quite lively and comfortable to ride because of its comically tight proportions.
