For sale my Proflex XP-8.
It's in excellent or near new condition despite being about 20 years old. It's not quite NOS but it would pass for having rolled out of a bike shop this year. There are a couple of small chips on the paint more from storage than use I think. An interesting bit of cycling history. Lots of stiction (especially when it has sat around for a while) compared to modern bikes, and rather steep geometry. I don't know what these were like when new but maybe it could do with new shock seals after 20 years?
These retailed at £1599 but the original purchaser of this obviously immediately spent a bomb upgrading it. £390, collected in Suffolk - but happy to arrange to meet halfway within reason.
The spec:
Proflex XP-8 frame in gold. Custom Risse Genesis shock. No play in bushings.
Girvin Vector fork, Risse Genesis shock. No play in bushings.
Transmission Deore XT
Brakes XT parallelogram
Wheels: Deore LX, Mavic 220 Sunset anodised rims, DT swiss DB stainless spokes. WTB Velociraptor 2.1" tyres. Negligible wear to tyres or rims. Cassette is near mint.
Cranks: Race Face Turbine, excellent as are the chainrings
Hope headset, stem and top cap
X-Lite XC riser handlebar
Selle Italia C2 saddle. Nicer than the original. Light signs of wear.
Peaty's lock on grips
No measurable wear to the chain.
Nominally medium, 18"
I make it 50cm C-T and 58cm effective top tube
Pedals not included.
