Lots of forums have a width restriction, if you crop the picture the limit isn't usually a problem, I am thinking motorbike forums with 600px width limit; OK 600px is a bit narrow, I am often using a 1600x1200 monitor so 600 looks pretty small.
My main problem is people don't compress the pics, I have a crappy broadband connection and it's not strange for it to be running at 130K, so it can take ages to load a pic heavy page.
