I get a bit of heel rub using SPD's on my road bikes and MTB's. I think it is because I have the floating type and don't have them to tight in the pedals. I also have a pair of shoes that will always create 'ball of foot rub' with Look cleats and pedals no matter what I do. It is probably the way the sole with its fixing holes is moulded - and Look cleats don't seem to have as much lateral adjustment as SPD's.

Thanks Ned, starting to seem that Look are perhaps more prone to this...

Maybe the new frame will get treated to new pedals as well!
