Panterae - 2 become 1 become...?

Re: Panterae - 2 become 1 (Was: Suspension options...)

Will give them a call this afternoon, ta :)

I'm still toying with the idea of a Zaskar frame in the same colour, but that does involve finding a suitably cheap 18" early 90s Zaskar frame and finding someone who can colour-match the neon orange/red.

We'll give frame-straightening a shot, anyway...

Re: Panterae - 2 become 1 (Was: Suspension options...)

So the trades holiday means I can't get the orange bike checked for at least another two weeks. Rather than sitting with two non-functional bikes (they need a bare frame to put in the jig), decided to put the blue bike back together, with the new bits on it.

Cables are way too long and steerer isn't at final length, as that'll depend on what bike everything ends up on and where I'm happy with the heights, but it's usable, if badly in need of a wash...

Now to see if anyone wants to buy an Atac stem and slightly scruffy set of Project 2s...

Small progress - fixed the brake clearance issue by replacing the canti studs with a set of cyclocross ones, which also gives a bit more adjustment into the bargain:

Also added a set of middle burn rings (red. I may yet regret that) and an x-lite clikon seatpost. New BB also on the way.

On a slightly different note, can anyone tell me exactly what these hubs are? Hope, obviously, but I've never seen those disc mounts before and I've definitely never seen anyone selling discs that fit...

It's interesting to see the weight difference between the two frames. Would be curious to see where the blue one comes in at, given that it's between the two age-wise, even if it's 7000-series alloy rather than the 6061 of the black bike. The tubing's definitely thinner-walled, to my eye.

Anyway, both frames are about to be packaged up and sent off so the black one can get paint-matched to the orange one. I'm not going to be able to quite get the decal combination I want, but I'll hopefully have something pretty close...
