Interestingly BITD I had 2 sets - 1 of medium and 1 of soft and what I did was mix and match them so I had soft springs for the first half and then medium springs for the second half of the fork travel.
After I discovered RB and fished my RC35's out of the shed I found the Elastomers in the forks had crumbled to mush but the ones still stored in my bits bag next to the bike in the original clear tube were still in intact if unusable condition. From memory they hadnt had much use after the last swop so it surprised me that the ones out of the bike lasted relatively longer than the ones in. Both sets were liberally smeared in RC7.
