Oscar Egg build now underway

Yes, lacqured after the decals - looks black but when the sun shines on it it's purple (so most of the time in this country it'll look black ;).

All together now and been been for a short ride today.
Rides very well and works as it should but the brakes are a bit squidgy and underpowered, I think the problem is the outer cables compressing so they may have to go. The 5 speed Sturmey Archer hub is a delight to use.
Colour's a bit strange - looks black until the sun shines on it or using camera flash - then it's purple.
Lug lining by Martin who's local to me on Notts/Derbys border, I can supply his contact details if required.
Have a look at the pics and let me know what you think, I've built it for riding so it's not authentic or original but I've tried to keep a French flavour to it.

Wow, fantastic work. Love the color, very subtle and sophisticated. Interesting to see such thin, almost "pencil" chainstays on a French bike from that period. I had thought that was mostly a feature of UK bikes.
