It's black rattle can on top of the original silver powder coat. So don't see why they won't go back to the raw steel easily. You mention stainless steel but I assume you just mean raw steel because and P7 isn't stainless steel. PM me and we can make some more arrangements, I notice you're in London so we could just meet up.

Older P7s were nickel plated, hence the raw appearance. That also corresponds with 1" headsets.
