One in - One out...

Re:

My Orange in its natural habitat, locked up outside the pub:).

It has taken me a while to get my riding position, beauty of having too many bikes and far too many spare parts is you can work through what you have to get your bike how you want it.

I settled on an inline post (first time ever one has suited me as I usually buy bikes too small for me!!) and 700mm bars, I am currently running a 100mm stem but may drop to an 80mm.

Now I know what I need I can go shopping for the brand's I want, Thomson post, stem and post clamp are top of the list, not sure on bars though as I do not want to go wider than 700mm and Thomson don't make any that short!

Looks like the Orange is a keeper along side my Turner and ebike.

Re:

At what point am I supposed to admit I have a problem? Just received my Rockhopper, well I have never owned a Specialized and today is my 53rd birthday so time is running out- worked on my wife :).

The Rockhopper is 19", so the Merlin has to go. Check out the for sale forums near you soon as 5 bikes into 3 spaces does not go...

Don’t be so narrow minded.

Get creative! :xmas-big-grin:

Oh and happy birthday!

I think joining this forum is admitting you have a problem. This place doesn't help at all in fact it makes it worse. At least your not alone. As for the 5 into three doesn't go that depends on how quickly you can disassemble them before the wife notices. I do like the orange it looks purposefull and I nearly bought a spesh just like that a few months ago but I couldn't justify having four.

I picked up a kona king kikapu last week for the wheels and breaks to go on the storck but I have a feeling I'm going to keep it. Trouble is I have no room and don't want to get rid of anything.

Re:

Thanks THM, I bought a surprise gift for myself some nice Hope hubs with Mavic X717 rims - the surprise was I intended to buy a dropper post LOL.

Re:

I am not getting on with the Spesh at all, t wild! Problem is the Turner is just so inspiring, I want to hammer it everywhere and it rewards me more than any other bike I have owned. Plus it now has all the names, Hope, Thomson, Chris King and XT M8000. The Orange is getting close too and just runs so smoothly and is good for all conditions plus it inherits the Crossrides from the Turner tomorrow. The Spesh is up against it and doesn't seem to have a USP in this company.

I'm not surprised your not taken with the spesh really. It is a great bike but not quite to the standard of your orange and nowhere near the turner. That's a beauty also it's not got the bling factor. Maybe if it was an s works but it would have to be pretty special to debunk the orange from the hardtail throne. At least you can tick specialised off the big brand wish list. Until you find a higher spec one anyway. :)

Re:

Spesch has gone! Got an offer that meant I was only £20 down on my purchase price, but I did manage to swap a few bits over to my other bikes so all in all I am happy to have moved it on. Only cost me time to lube and adjust.

To celebrate I ordered some Thomson stuff from Evans, hopefully that will stop me buying another bike ;).

Re:

It keeps me out the pub, oh wait...
