The yellow tape protects the chainstay from chainslap, and also holds the sharkfin in place; the sharkfin helps prevent chainsuck.

I could've probably gone with zip ties on the sharkfin, but I don't know how 1988 that would've been. Lizard skins are out of the question.

Tape works pretty well, and it gives it color, though I guess the black electrical tape takes away from the attractiveness...meh

Thanks, it might stay this way, though I still want to try a few things just to see how it looks...as far as function, it's perfect...well, except for the rear u-brake, it's not quite where I want it.

It's the 16.5" or possibly the 18" depending oh how fcc measured their sizes, (it's 16.5 c to c, but 18"center of crank to top of seat tube). The tt is about 22". I rather have a short headtube than a long one...but that's just me I guess, haha.
