The kit I have decided on is:

XT double transmission groupset
XT v-brakes

Does anyone have experience with the 10 speed 2x10 chainring setup. Will be using a 36-11 cassette so I think it will have the same range of gears as a traditional triple chainring. So you use the full range of the cassette with each chainring?

I too have just recently finished a retro ti frame + modern components build.

I personally went naked carbon for bars, stem, post, saddle and rims along with XTR drive train and XT discs. Was lucky that my '00 Unicoi had a bolt on disc tab kit still available directly from litespeed.

Mated to an old grey talas fork it looks mean but still classical looking.

I personally love the blend of brushed ti and 3k carbon weave everywhere else.
