Sorry, but Workosp had closed long before we sponsored the Castorama team. It was made in Nottingham at the Lightweight Division.
:)

I thought that the 'W' stood for Worksop? :?

Originally, yes, but the designation stuck when the Carlton factory closed and operations moved to Nottingham (1981-ish?).

Hi Matt,
Internal cable routing was done on some frames made by what was then called Raleigh Lightweight Division, later becomming Raleigh Special Products.

Let's see some pic's then.

Cheers

Ive just picked up a late 753 frame sb8818 and it also has internal brake cable on top tube.I have never seen this on a 753,also has the cinelli B/B shell and lugs.Would this have been customer special order?

Welcome! The only info I can give is that it was made in Worksop in the last two weeks of January 1988. I look forward to seeing your Panasonic Team Replica, here's my SBDU 753R:

Reiterating and in addition to Bikemeister2000s comment about Worksop.

Worksop closed in 1981.

Raleigh continued using the W frame number prefix at Nottingham - now, if had a quid every time I've said that...

Roadking.
