My crazy Titanium Bike

Ganimed

Devout Dirtbag
Hi again ;)

Now I dare to show you my Ti bike. šŸ¤£

Bought the frame in 1997 from a bike-shop here in Cologne. The frame was a slow seller. The shop had this frame hanging on the wall forever. I think the frame hung there for at least 3 or 4 years. It was originally supposed to cost 3700 marks. When it was reduced to just 900 marks only, I bought it in 1997 because I always wanted a nice and light (1620 grams) titanium frame.

These frames were identical to the Cycletech Genius Ti frames and Winora T-One Ti frames. The quality of the frame was great.

I only had two bikes back then and I really let off steam on the titanium bike in terms of the selection of parts and the constantly changing look. Fake decals from Fat and Merlin inclusive šŸ˜

But see for yourself...

Frame only...

I sort of donā€™t understand it - but I sorta love it!

The perfect antidote to everyone that takes their builds too seriously around here. Me included.

I love the different look of this bike. A bit messy indeed, but it looks so racing. (even if not period correct for its time).
