Miss-fitting chainset rings?

To fit m760 rings on an m752 crank, I had to remove a little from each of the tabs and also a little off the crank arm too as the shift pins lined up on the arms and wouldn't sit flush. I had marginally more life out of m760 rings than m752 before I threw in the towel and went to steel.

had to do this a few days ago, bolted new and old ring together (same pcd) then using a deburring air gun at work dressed the 4 chainring tab mounts to match old ring, only a few mm difference but still had to be done.
