sorted mine... 3 and 3/4" length of elastomers needed with a 1/2" bumper on the top... cobbled mine together with some old ones and despite being VERY firm they seem to work well, deffo slide up/down with out any issues. I do wonder, are the insides of yours legs super clean as if they are crudded up with melted old elastomer this could be binding the lower bushing? I found pouring boiling water from the kettle into my stripped lower legs helped wash mine out, however be careful what it then lands on as it has consistency of chewing gum and never comes off!
