Long shot and in considerable pain - Chris King griplock

Thanks Wynne - I am inclined to agree re Hope versus CK. My thread elsewhere explains the horror of corrosion I found inside the headset - all caused by a tech or previous owner installing the headset without greasing the steerer. Grrr. Had to really apply ‘selective force’ and left the Griplock somewhat the worse....

There are people who think that CK rule. Well they have good bearings but there some downsides...pssst....want to know a secret? The design isn’t perfect....

Re:

I recently found myself in a similar situation and after a lot of searching and calling managed to buy a spare top race from Saddleback, if that helps.

Here’s a photo of mine showing the product code:

Re:

Ah that's really helpful. Winstanley's have been in touch this week but only with 'it's on back order and expected soon'. Best and thanks.

No worries, hope that helps. Saddleback were great on the phone, their website was showing zero stock but they had a rummage in their warehouse and found a few after I asked.
