Just wondering if anybody has found an aluminium quill stem adaptor that has worked well....ie they are not needing emergency dentistry....and how heavy they are.

I have a situation im trying to laterally think myself out of and this was one solutions, but the cheaper steel version seem to come in at the best part of 300g....where i can find a weight listed!

Cheers.

Do you mean to fit an ahead stem to standard threaded forks? All the ones I've seen are alloy, not super light but the combination isn't really any heavier than just a standard quill stem anyway. Can weigh one later on if you like

I did see the profile one on amazon, any body actually used it? Im always ( probably without cause) a little sceptical of these.....its just another joint....

I've not used them much, but if installed correctly they work fine. Yes it's another joint in the system, but neither of them is worse than the equivalent joints in the individual systems (stem clamped onto the steerer, or quill clamped inside it)

You have mail 😀
