Latex inner tubes

3 ebay listings said 440g for a 26" inner tube. chain reaction say 210g
searched continental to keep the same spec
 
They made sense many years ago, but have been surpassed. Sometimes when punctured they would split / tear / rupture making repair impossible. Even if they didn't, roughening the surface with sandpaper to provide a key for the patch was always a buttock clenching experience.

Schwalbe AV14A on average come very close or on the nose of the claimed 95g.
 
I am using them on a road bike with high tpi tyres and they do ride very nicely. But, as others have said, they can be a bit of a faff. I've had a few explode straight after fitting and pumping up, also sometimes with a little air in it seems that they are not uniform thickness throughout. The sensible answer is to use lightweight normal tubes BUT these oddball things have to be experienced ;)
