Kona Kilauea 1993

Since my last post I have made a few more changes including: nicer condition Flite saddle, wheels with matching rims w/ Real Design front hub & XT rear, Suntour XC Pro pedals & (NOS) Ritchey ZED Race tires.

Since it’s a re-paints only BOTM this month I’ve decided to give it a go with my Kona! I’m really happy with the end result

How's the durability of the paint holding up? From these pics I have to say the quality and colour match is really impressive. There are some pretty shocking results on here (each to their own) so I wince a bit when I see someone decide to take the plunge.

@al-onestare so far durability has been good. I'm sure the minute a nasty rock flies at the paint it'll chip though. In my experience rattle can durability can't match a pro paintjob, possibly others have found products that disagree with my experience. I'm pretty careful with all my vintage bikes and ride them on pretty smooth dirt/gravel trails.

I'm really happy with the paint colors chosen, the brown/burgundy seems closer than my first attempt as is the light grey/gold on the forks, not a prefect match to the stem but close enough for me

Another immaculate build, that looks sweet . Don’t know how I missed this one first time round. Can’t believe someone would just throw it away.
