The fork runs on Timken taper roller bearings. Rex's design spreads the load on both the top and bottom equally and is adjusted via the titanium bolt through the centre.

I do like that - there was a guy in a bike shop that I worked in years ago with that very set up. weighed nothing at all

Was that the Fleet Street branch of Action Bikes in London, Circa 1997? I was thinking the very same thing. I worked there then and can't rememebr the guy's name. It was the very same set up - even the foam grips were the same.


Did you buy this bike complete or build it yourslef?

I built the bike myself over time, circa 97 I would have worked in one or two bike shops in London (but not Action Bikes). In the same period the bike would have changed its groupset from series 1 to series 2 XTR.
