There is many apps you can use to scan RAL colours and are pretty accurate. Just make sure you do it in natural light

Paint codes are for a small number of standard colours. Most products like cars, bikes etc don't use standard colours.

hmm, never knew that. I just assumed it would be easy like the time I needed some touch up paint for my old 6.0L - called up Ford & about ten days later it was at the dealership where I bought the truck from...*shrugs*. oddly enough, the truck was also grey.

Yep, I've not found bike companies or retailers to be helpful here. Seems baffling that they can't tell you what colour a currently available bike is.
