Mavic 230's were about the lightest rim Mavic made BITD... 375g!

They also did a 230TIB which was a copper/titanium colour.

For the period that is very light. Even now, you struggle to find rim this light.

A 36h well laced wheel built with 230's made an excellent Xc race wheel.

Pullstar hubs were also way ahead of their time - just look at the modern Mavic Crossmax or the Hope Pro 3's

Cheers,

Chaser.

230's have always been my favorite rim ever since they were introduced. The best pin seam rim ever produced in the bike industry IMHO. Have 3-4 pair of wheels laced with then and am always seeking more of them.

You can replace the bearings in Pulstar hubs, all it needs is a socket set and a hammer  Marwi do suitable straight pull spokes as replacements.
