Yep my 3d Superwoofer (by Hitachi) was the same took about 200 D Cell batteries and for a few hours...

First one had three 8 inch speakers, 1 cassette deck

Next one had two tape decks to untangle spooled tapes from and had sprouted another speaker to drain the D cells

Two decks... Duplication station? And once we twigged you could rip off all your spectrum games...

I had to go around my mates house as his dad had bought a hifi, taping speccie games Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy, JetPac etc wow games took forever to load, and writing lines of code to get extra lives etc

yes i am. I did have a pet pug. Best dog in the world. Before i got a pug i hated dogs. Still do. Except pugs.
