Introducing Vera, a 1985 Land Rover 110 County

Re:

Superb choice.

Funnily enough my girlfriend's Landrover 110 is also 1985 and called Vera! Although it is an ex-military one rather than a county. We do also have a 1983 110 County called Francesca. Plus a couple of series Landrovers.

Putting my pedant hat on (common for Landrover owners & compulsory now the new defender is out). Technically it's not a Defender, I think they only called them Defenders after the Discovery came out. Does mean you are distanced from the new ones. :)

Best of luck with the new Landrover. They are fun to work on and great fun to drive.

Correct.....after 1991 the became Defenders....Defenders of the faith!

Great fun to work.......read frustrating, illogical, bonkers, maddening....I could continue but I suspect the message is clear.
Having said that, if one is into retro mountain bikes...it will all seem quite normal. Even the rust and ceased fittings.

I’ll just leave this here. Kevin.

The idea that my tool set will get me around most of it is comforting.....
What's the deal with the defender badge on the front then?

BTW although she's registered as November 1985, she's got the '86 2.5L TDi modified sometime in the 90's apparently.... sounds fantastic :cool:

As for the brackets, I need these apparently;

I think I'll go look in the box of bits that came with first! :shock:
