Karma How to mono a cartridge

Not sure if this is possible to DIY but a Ortofon 2m Mono cartridge is £350 and uses a 18mu. conical stylus similar to the £90 2m Red.

Is it possible to "monofy" a stereo cartridge ?

......if that's the only option I think I'll spring for the £350 !!

It appears you could bridge two of the outputs on a stereo cartridge which should offer some improvement if not the full mono system experience.
