Well I'm no metalurgist but I doubt even a hairdryer with Vidal Sasoon at the helm and a turbo button could change the chemical properties of the weld. Lots of proper welders on here who will give you an accurate answer.

Are you sure it was a hairdryer? Soulds like a welding torch!

Thanks, it's for your amusement. It had me in stiches when I saw it (I'm easily amused). I'm pretty sure it's from Trigger Happy TV or one of Dom Jolly's TV shows.
