as for trying, if I could find some nice nick 200GS I would be on it quick sharp but cost is the factor here fella, even if I found some of the parts I can guess i'd pay more in postage considering the weight of the cranks alone

I'll see what I can find to keep close to the spec but some parts may be subject to upgrades

just a ride home from work to tweak and give it a good clean

managed to find some deore LX front and rear mechs, LX chainset, some old exage shifters, non retro wheels of an old carrera which happens to be where the saddle came from too, under £40 all in all.

and yeah, just noticed that front mech can come down a bit :?

well, got it home, rear derailleur has had a fettle on the way as it ate the inner driveside dropout at one point , otherwise its done really well for a 'banged together at work' bike.

given it a wash and I'm happy, just hope my cousin likes it too

Plus two - I am starting work on my 1998 STS 1000 DS frame - but depending on what I can find, the plan is to make this a top-end spec machine to drool over.

Right now I am trying to acquire an XTR bottom bracket to fit the crank set I already have!
