GT RTS 3 1994, it’s a little bit purple.

I’ve always loved GT bikes and in 1994 when I was in my teens, I wanted nothing more than an RTS or an LTS. Fast forward to Mountain Mayhem in 2019 and whilst chatting with some of the RB crowd I was told get an RTS. So here we are!

I got this RTS 3 frame off eBay, it’s not a ball burnished team frame but I can live with that. The shock and pivots seem ok, the paint isn’t in brilliant condition but it’s 30 years old!

Not sure what to do about the paint, respray, strip and polish or leave it. I have some parts for it already and a Rock Shox fork which should match it nicely.

I had an RTS 2 the year they came out and loved it, I rode the wheels off it everywhere. I recently bought an RTS 3 to fill the gap in my life.
The purple paint looks in pretty good condition in the pictures but polishing is always an option. Looking forward to seeing more pictures as you build it

I’ve started to get some parts together for the RTS. Big shout out to @Minifreak who has sold me some STX canti brakes… looking forward to getting these on the bike!

Some GT handlebars arrived in the post this morning… they’re definitely not NOS but they’re going to look good on the RTS. (Edit- forgot to add the picture)

Spent a bit of time in the garage today. The RTS is on its wheels.

The Mag 21 has been sat in the loft since before COVID, I was going to use it with my Kilauea but the steerer was too short, it’s perfect on the RTS though. More to come, I am on the lookout for a front mech, a stem and some bar ends….
