Fat Chance: a two number serial numbers?

I just picked up an 80s Fat Chance and it seems to only have a two digit serial number (7:cool:—any Fat Chancers out there that know if this is correct (I only ever see more than just two numbers when searching online).
Thanks! Fat_Chance.jpg !

Couple of possibilities, it looks like there is part of a number to the left of the 7, so the rest of the serial could be faintly detailed under thick paint or it got filled off for dubious reasons or its an anomaly eg ex staff bike. Sometimes serials were not stamped on some frames ( Staff bikes or Protos ) but that was rare. The paint/patina looks original or certainly well seasoned. Id clean it up and blast it internally with frame saver and ride it.

Thanks for the frame saver tip!
