Dropper posts and seat clamps

I imagine that frames designed for droppers are built to take the additional forces of the post moving with a riders weight attached, but thought I'd ask if a standard post clamp is all that's needed to hold the post in place?

I've only used a dropper on a build once, and went for a hope dropper clamp, looking to learn if that's needed or if a normal clamp is fine and dandy.

nope, just a normal seatpost clamp is all ou need.
Just need to remember not to do up too tight so it doesnt impeed the post from working, but still keep the post itself up.
