Decking advice.

Re:

Freddie helped me build a second deck two years ago =D

Its on sloping ground and supported by treated 4x4s concreted into grass, with the main frame being 6x2s, all from my local sawmill. Had to do a bit of Strategic Thinking as its an odd shape (like a SIM card) and I'm no joiner, but its worked out fine. Same materials on our older deck which has stood for 20 years with no issues. The first one is approx 3m above ground.

Size is approx 5m x 4m. Plenty fittings available at Screwfix although I had to order some angled joist supports from USA as I couldn't locate them in the UK. Lots of tutorial type info on youtube.

Planks aren't fastened here - just sitting to provide a working platform

Re:

Aftermath of Oban High School Leavers' Party 2018. No fatalities, but one broken wrist, broken ceramic plant pot, really sticky timber floors throughout the house, broken outdoor furniture and a hell of a lot of empties. Both decks, old and new, stood up fine with around 70 drunk teenagers on them being, well, drunk teenagers. Never again!
Makes COVID-19 a walk in the park, literally =D

Be Safe. :xmas-big-grin:
