Cutting a thread in titanium Ringle seat QR

Never tried, and likely never will. Used to work with titanium in aerospace, making ducting/bellows etc & it was hard enough just rolling it into tubes and filing the ends. Went through many, many many many, many many 2nd cut files prepping for welding.

Most of the sheet stock we began with was laser-cut to size, can't imagine the amount of tooling it would've munched through sizing them before laser was available.

Can't you space out lever and nut so that it will still work if you were to 20240225_164735.jpg fit it into a nicer and wider collar?
Mind you... then there would have been no need to chase the threads.
And don't laugh at my Nokon Track Pearls🙄 they seemed like a cool idea at the time.

I notice I've lost the "o"ring, whereas you still have yourn.
Wear to cam similar.
Once the skewer is adjusted right, of course, the o-ring is superfluous, so maybe i took mine off in the "Lightweight" era (1996🤔)
Must be a gramme or 2?
Perhaps you could weigh yours for me?😃
